Euclid: Cleveland firm receives $4.3 million grant to turn PMX Industries site into industrial park
by

Friday November 14, 2008, 10:40 AM
Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher announced Thursday (Nov. 13) Fogg Building Methods of Cleveland will be the recipient of a $4.3-million Job Ready Sites grant from the state of Ohio.
The money will be used to prepare the former PMX Industries site, 1121 E. 260th St., in Euclid, for redevelopment into a light industrial park. Specifically, the money will be used for environmental cleanup, to build a roadway through the park and to install infrastructure.
Mayor Bill Cervenik said the city and Fogg have already been assured a $1.1-million grant from Cuyahoga County for environmental cleanup.
It is possible the first building could be built as early as June. Despite the poor economy, Fogg intends to move forward with the development, which, it has stated, could create anywhere from 1,000-1,400 jobs within the next five years.

Two Euclid Rotary Club members received the Paul Harris Fellow award Tuesday night (Nov. 11) at the club's 59th anniversary meeting at Kristy's Tavern, 434 E. 200th St.
The award was bestowed upon Dr. Allan Rolfe and Steve Janovac. Paul Harris was the founder of the Rotary Club in Chicago, in 1905. The club, which raises money to aid with issues locally and internationally, has clubs throughout the world.
The Euclid club raises scholarship money for three Euclid High School students, supplies dictionaries for Euclid third graders and is associated with aid to the Euclid Public Library and Euclid Hospital. For the past 23 years, clubs around the world have raised money to stamp out polio.
Rolfe, 90, is a retired dentist and a founding member of the club. For more than 50 years he practiced dentistry on Lake Shore Boulevard. He now resides in Beachwood.
Janovac, of Euclid, has been a member since 1976.
In order to be a recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow, members must donate at least $1,000 to Rotary causes.
In addition, Euclid resident John Telich, Sr., became a fifth-degree Paul Harris Fellow as Telich has reached the $6,000 level of donations.
